My car set an SES Light and it comes up with a Code 43: Electronic Spark Control Circuit. I usually would know where to go from here, but I'm just wondering how to go about fixing it from here on out. When I saw circuit it makes me think that a wire might be loose somewhere or I need to replace a circuit. Is this an actual part that I can just swap out? Thanks.

ta, your car is only OBD1, so it can't actually detect a misfire from the coils, plugs, or wires. This usually means that there'* a problem with the crank sensor, cam sensor, or ICM (most likely suspect is the ICM). Do you have any other 3800'* at your disposal to swap out the ICM? Try the ICM and the coils.

It would also help to know if you have the Magnavox ignition (one solid coil) or the Delco (three seperate coils). 92 was a transition year, and you may have either.

I have the 3 coil setup on my car, and unfortunately no, I don't have any other 3800 powered cars to swap parts with. I could ohm out the coils, but I'd need to get ahold of an ohmmeter before I could do that. Is the ICM a common thing to go? If so, I can just replace it for the hell of it and it might even fix the problem.
