ok, on my 92 SSEi and my 90 SSE are both having the same electical problems.

Theses are what happens when i go to start my car.
1. Will start just fine sometimes
2. Will start just fine, and then if i shut it off and try to start it, i get problem 3 or 4.
3. Will only get clicking from starter
4. Will not get anything, when key is turned, and yet the battery is fine, until i turn the key and the gage drops to the redzone and all lights are dim.

Had battery checked, its ok
Had Alternator Checked, its ok also
Clean all contacts at the Battery cables

I dont know what do do now?

any suggestions would be appreciated!

Possibly the starter is going bad and drawing too much amperage from the battery? Have you had a load test done on the battery?

Agree with the above...

Also, check the _other_ ends of your cables, where they're attached to the engine block and to the starter solenoid. They can get dirty and loose down there, especially the starter connection.

Finally, to really clean the battery ends of your cables, you need to back out the little center bolt on each of the cables so you can get at the contact ring underneath and clean it. If you turn the end with a wrench while pressing the bolt out from underneath with your thumb, it'll come out. You'll probably find cruddy goop to clean out. Wire brush wherever needed, wipe all contact areas with Vaseline and stick it all back together.

our ranger did a similar thing like that, but the starter solonoid itself would click non stop, if you hit it hard with a wrench it would stop and then the truck would start. replaced it and it worked fine.

i have already cleaned teh battery cables at the battery, but i will try to do the other ends today. someone told me to replace the solinoid, but i didnt want to replace it, if theres no reason too.

alright, i clean the ground end, and i cleaned the sends at the starter. still the same problem. it did fix the problem for a few hours though.
