If you have the inflator, you have ELC.

Peel back the trunk carpet from the seat back in the trunk, on the right side next to the Right Rear strut tower. You'll see a solonoid valve with wires and tubes. That'* the valve that selects between ELC and the inflator.

96+ has to be in the 'on' position for the compressor to work.

The ELC will work regardless of inflator status.

Not true on my 93. If the inflator is on, the ELC cannot inflate the struts. Inflator must be off to enable ELC.

Hmm, maybe I should test that when I get my ELC sensor from Newton.

Yours is the same. If you disconnect the selector valve behind the rear seat (peel back carpet next to Right Rear Strut Tower), it defaults to ELC, but if you turn on the inflator, it will overfill the struts.

Do this and then pull fuse #12 when fully raised on the rear, and you have dragstrip mode

The point is that you can only 'fill' one system at a time normally. When the inflator is ON, it won't allow the ELC to be selected on the valve.

You mean the key has to be "on"? Oh, I thought you were telling him to push the on button for the inflator, which is what dhe did.
