My question is this: if the compressor doesn't work on 12V directly, is there still relays or fuses that could be preventing it from coming on? Or does this mean the unit itself is bad?
I remember reading about someone carefully taking the pump apart and cleaning it and reassembling and having a working pump again. If it ain't working now, you'd have nothing to lose.

You might get one from a junkyard. Things are guaranteed usually, so you could get another if the first doesn't work. I'd think the pumps are the same across many years and models.

i can't even figure out how to get it out without wrecking it... but i dont trust my shocks not to leak a bit, and i dont want the pump running all the time trying to level it if they leak. i may take it apart and see, but even if it does work i may not use it

back to the ghetto-rigging. if i understand it correctly, i wouldn't need the line to the pump then? i could just splice the inflator line with the line to the shocks, and that would be it?

you could use the trunk valve to fill if you followed it back to the solenoid/switch and put it in place of the line from the compressor, then fill with the valve in the trunk

Ok, i did a little testing. i disconnected all the lines at the compressor and shot some air into the INFLATOR valve. i found out thtat it comes out the middle line (the one with a nut holding it on). now i just need to know which line goes to the shocks so i can splice into it... the line that comes off the top, or off the bottom
