You know what I'm having the same problem in my 1993 SSEI bonne. I checked my pump - works - I checked all hoses and airlines - (works - no leaks) - fuses - (all good) my compressor won't turn on. What I figured it might be this lil black box next to the right rear shock with a level thats hooked up to the suspension and its ran electronically to the air compressor (I believe) and what I suspect is this lil box has gone bad. - does anyone know what that lil black box is called - I cant seem to find one and if anybody knows where to get one I would be more than happy to order one.

This is called the Suspension Position Sensor. You can look on eBay or try the dealer or a local salvage yard.

GOT the pressure limiter valve today. got it off an 1997 ponti. SSE. installed it. I turned the ignition in run mode waited a couple sec. compressor turned on for about 6 sec. (i heard it) then shut off. i ran my own test on it today, what i did was i added about 200 Lbs. of weight. waited for the compressor to turrn on after the weight was added to the trunk. HENCE it never came on it just seems to come on once. after ive turned the ignition over? My question is, are the struts noticible when air is in them how much will they raise how much height gain am i looking for? the rear still to me looks too low. Maybe a bad height sensor?

The ELC is not intended to add height per se, it does adjust height based off of weight, and it does have its limitations. You can easily test the ECL by raising the vehicle, removing the drivers side rear tire, disconnect the pivot arm and then manualy move the switch leveler with the ignition on.
