well got to checking out the elc on my car today and it seems thew compressor is dead so now to find out why prob got blown rear shocks how mutch are new ones and how hard is it to find a good compresor ? thanks

sometimes you can take apart the compressor and oil it to bring it back to life.....also it might not actually be dead.....hook it up to a 12 v source and see of you get anything...

ok got power to the compressor and no go how do i get it out

so now the saga continues ok the compressor i bought came in and i got it in now i got air to the shrader in the trunk but nothing going to the bags on each side and it is int leaking out at least i cant hear it by the rear struts i can unplug it from the valv in the trunk and it id building presure but kinda gets stuck there dont got a clue now :?:

well so mutch for that i found the leak it is the pump its self it is blowing out the rear case seal so off to find another ELC pump

Many cars had the ELC..even 1985+ Park avenues and such. Shouldn't be too hard for you to find a new one, and at a wrecker, probally like 20 dollars or so is what I would expect to pay..you can take them apart and beef them up slightly im sure of that..might be something worth doing?

ya i tryed to tear my old one down but got the back cover off and it was trashed inside was missing a washer between the e-clip and rod so the crank clip was just digging in to the rod side and the crank rod would not unscrew from the crank so i couldent get it all the way apart to check every thing out
