Default EGR blowout?

I swapped the EGR from my 93 SE parts car because it seemed mine leaked. Soot was building up around the outside of it, like on the side of the valve cover, etc. It'* not coming from the gasket, but between the solenoids and the base of the EGR.

So I put the other one in, I noticed an extra growl near redline. I guess this one does it even worse. It didn't leak at all on the other car.

Am I moving so much air that it'* blowing out the EGR? Do I need a high flow muffler to possibly remedy the situation? I already have a high flow cat.

Well this one worked fine on the 93 L27, now it leaks like a bitch from between the actuators and the base. Is my backpressure too high for it?

Exact same part? New gasket? Wiring/codes clean?

The 92 has springs you can see. The 93 has metal collars that cover them. New gasket, even though I could have reused the old one. No codes. Haven't seen anything wrong with the wires. Could a short cause them to open too far?

Well, after the new Magnaflow, there is no more growl from the EGR. I need to clean off the areas around it to see if it still leaks.

John, your PCM may have needed time to learn the new (better or proper) flow from the EGR.
