Anybody Ever Replace The Emergency Brake Pedal On A 90'* Bonny Or Similar? Mine On My 94 SE Got Stuck In The On/depressed Position. It Happened While Parking At Rush Hour And Was A Huge Hassle. I Ended Up Being Able To Free It After Bending And Twisting It. Before It Got Stuck I Released It By Pulling Up On It With My Toe After Depressing It A Bit. Obviously I Should Not Ignored It:oops: I Have A New Pedal From The Junk Yard. But It Was A Bear To Pull. Can I Put It In W/o Removing The Dashboard?

The Parking Brake assembly can be replaced without taking the dash out... You will have to have a set of ratchet wrenches to get a couple of the bolts out... You will ofcourse feel it when you are all done, The pain that is

Also the reason I have ratchet wrenches at all, and now I can't live without them

OK, so other than the fact that you will have to be a practicing contortionist to do this without removing the dash panel, I can see how it can be done. First, you will definitely need the ratcheting gear wrenches Don mentions. Now is a great excuse to get them, 'cause you know you always wanted a set anyway.
There are three nuts holding the lever assembly itself to the chassis, one sheet metal screw holding the brake cable retaining clip to the Brake pedal assembly, and one electrical connector attached to the parking brake switch.
Per the FSM, these are the steps, in summary:
1. Remove lower I/P trim or sound insulator panel as needed for access to lever assembly. (We've already determined that this is optional, depending upon your flexability and tolerance for lying upside-down on your head for long periods of time.)
2. Disable the SIR system.
3. Remove front parking brake cable from lever assembly (brake pedal assy.) after removing retaining clip.
4. Remove electrical connector from parking brake switch.
5. Remove lever assembly attaching nuts (again, this is the parking brake pedal assy. They mean you should remove the three nuts; two horizontal nuts facing you at front of assy. and one verticle nut at rear of assembly.)
6. Remove Lever assembly.
The toughest part here is truly the awkward position you have to contort yourself into to gain access without removing the dash panel. Second toughest is getting light in the right places, so that you can see what the blinkitty-blink-blink you are doing.
