dorman intake
I thought the Dorman intakes were already sleeved? Communication seems to be very lacking in this topic. Firebuick, you need to be alot more clear about what you're trying to point out or ask.

firebuick,
That sleeving you did looks OK to me...but please get Bill Buttermore'* opinion, as he'* the man on EGR sleeve issues.
From the looks of your UIM runners, it looks like you could do something very much like what I'm doing, but I'm going to agree with willwren and say please don't do it until I've completed my experiment.
(But if you MUST experiment, make sure to get a spare UIM...and have a backup car you can drive
)

Summary: APN: metal sleeved UIM, 1) reduced diameter stovepipe with 3/4" base
.....................Dorman: no sleeve UIM, 2) reduced diameter stovepipes 3/4" and 5/8" bases
I have tried to point out the differences in repair options for L36 UIMs, but somehow the information doesn't seem to get across. I think folks see the numbers for gap dimensions and such, and just skip over it, not wanting to get bogged down in the details. But, as they say: " the devil is in the details." I am certain that I have repeatedly pointed out the benefits of the APN factory sleeved upper over Dorman'* unprotected plastic, so I can't say where the failure in communication is.:?
Although we need to do another update to add information on Dorman'* new pipe for 95-98 LIMs, the current Techinfo article provides the correct information:
