Default Does your car shake when the TCC is locked in 3rd?

Mine does, so does my other car, so did my last SSEi. A minor shutter at 38-41mph only. jsut enough to feel, just an uneasy feeling that nobody but myself can feel but it is clearly a problem at 1500rpm or so. Is this just a defect in the 4t60e? I am starting to think so. My last car olds 88, every ignition part was replaced except the wiring.

I guess I will just live with it. Anyone else notice a slight "shudder" at these speeds with the TCC locked in 3rd? I cant notcie it in 4th if it exists, probably becuase of the road vibration, but at 39 it is noticeable if you are really paying attention.

On the Olds 88, a guy from the trans shop "thought" he could feel it but I dont know since he seemed to want to rebuild my trans for the 2 grand so who knows.

I have also driven 2 other SSEis 93 and a 95 that had the same problem in varying degrees. My current 93 SSEi has 5000 miles on the trans, with replaced TCC clutch, new TC, and complete rebuild kit plus extras....

Maybe at WCBF I will get to drive other cars to see if they have the same problem.

Friends GTP does not do it.

NO other car I have ever drivin has the shudder.

Odd. aint it. I have drivin the 94 olds 88 VERY hard and the trans continues to work flawlessly. The problem might have gotten a tad worse I dont know.

There is an updated TCC solonoid and valve seat available at your next trans rebuild to fix this problem.

It will be part of your valvebody rebuild.

By this time, you've already done the tune up and checked all the other items that would cause the dreaded chuggle...

I'm with the group on the TCC soleniod.
