I did not have time to read all of the posts but I had a problem like that it It was my ebrake light that came on and would not go off I brought the car in and had it checked it was a problem with the front breaks. The repear cost about 100 total ( I ould have payed more than that to stop it or cut wires until it stoped.)

It must have been the "Brake" light not the "E-Brake" light as the E-Brake light is operated off the E-Brake pedal ONLY.....Brakes are NOT to be messed with unless you're trained to fix them in my opinion.....This problem here is just an Audible Alarm Module that doesn't know when to quit!

How fast is the chiming? Reason I ask is that (on the '93 model at least) there'* a low-speed chime that'* supposed to warn you that your parking brake is still on. It'* a slow constant *bong*...*bong*...*bong* that starts up after the car has been driven 50 feet with the parking brake on (at least set on enough to light up the warning light, maybe one or two clicks). So if you ever needed a method of measuring 50 feet with a Bonneville, now you know.

Is your brake warning light burned out? Does the warning light come on properly if you set your parking brake, and release it afterwards?

Hi...

Currently, nice winter in quebec is giving us -25C temp... I can't do mechanics in this time... And my bonnies doesn't fit in my garage

However, I d/c the fuse #6... I no longer hear that chime thing, didn't cut any wire and didn't found anything bad about taking out that fuse...

I know it'* not the best way to fix it, but for a temp fix, that will do for the moment...
