the '97 is the 4T60e correct? What'* the diff between that and a 4L60e?

The non-HD 97'* were 4T60E'*, the difference between that and the 4L60 is one mounts transversly and the other longitudinally. Meaning one is a front wheel drive and the other is rear wheel drive. The rear wheel drive models don't seem to have the same issues as the FWD'*, however many of the parts are likely a bit different.

Us 4L60-E owners still suffer the 1-2 shift delay. Not as easy to remedy such as the 4T60-E'*.
