ok, I have a 97 SSe and whenever I get into the car in the morning and push the window defroster window, it turns my A/C on too and it won't let me turn it offeven if I set the temp at the highest. The only way that I can get it to turn off is if I hit the mode button to put the defroster and floor on at the same time. Help please? THanks in advance!

Actually, you don't have a problem at all. The A/C was designed to come on whenever you hit the defrost button. This removes the moisture faster from the windshield as the A/C is a dehumidifier as well. But when the outside temperature falls below freezing the compressor is designed NOT to engage.
