Default Headlight switch removal?

I am having problems with my lights, the dash lights dont seem to be working any longer but all the other lights come on when I pull the switch out.. I think it might be just a melted switch like others have had but I cant seem to find out how to get to the darn thing... I have seen some posts talking about it but reference pics that are no longer there. any ideas on how I can remove the switch to replace it i will look at the ground bus and the fuses but I don't think its the fuses as my electronic HVAC control display is on till I turn the headlights on... also I have an aftermarket moon roof and its switch is also bad, I will post pics here as soon as I take them to see if anyone has an idea as to what I can use to replace that its a 2 way momentary with center off and has 5 prongs for power.

yes I have tried to twist it to both ends CCw and CW, and the twilight sentinel, still no dash lights.

in my chiltons manual H-body 1988-1993 (probably quite close to yours ,enven though its newer, that is if it looks the same)

1) refer to Air Bag section at tyhe begining of this section, and disarm the Air Bag system
2) Remove trim panel around the headlight switch.
3) Remove switch retaning screws.
4) Pull the switch out, disconnect the connector and remove the switch assembly

To Install:
5) Connect the connector and install switch. Secure screws.
6) Install the trim panel.
7) Arm airbag
8) inspect headlight switch for proper operation.

hope this helps ya

I was kinda looking for advice on how to remove the trim panel from the switch as the headlight **** is in the way, but I figured it out.
