Default 92 SSE RH Broken door update: fixed, no surgery required....

I posted last week about the RH rear door that had stopped opening on my '92 SSE. The latch had failed INTERNALLY....well....I GOT IT OPEN!

SUCCESS!

This is the old latch, the side you see...

This is how to trip the latch "on car", looking now at the "inner" side of the latch. The hex key required is about the same size as what is used to adjust points (if you remember what "points" are!). You will probably have to have another latch in your hand as a reference to where to stick the hex key - on the car you can't even see any of this side...

I gave $35 for the used latch at the junkyard, "they pulled". The donor door was damaged or THEY ALSO WOULD NOT HAVE sold the latch alone. My lock bumpers are fine as you can see in the pics. This is just an update of pics which have "turned out", I still don't have a good pic of the broken plastic piece. I might have to disassemble to show you exactly what broke. All 4 latches on the doors use the same design (rear doors add child locks though) - so if it happened to me, it could happen to you.........

Thanks to everybody who took a look to help me get if fixed

Ok latch disassembly time. Two pictures of the broken plastic actuator piece - as we say in engineering 'some parts have been omitted for clarity' = I cut the latch open:

And a final picture again of where to stick the hex key. Sorry, but I cut the end of the picture off:
