Question '94 Wont Crank - Please help me

My 1994 wont crank at all. I have tried several things and it still wont. When I try to start it the dash lights come on but the engine wont crank. The first thing I did is clean the battery connections at both the battery and the starter but that did not help. When I try to crank it there is no clicking at the starter. I hooked up a remote starter switch to the starter and tried it but that did not even do anything. All the starter did was click. I was thinking it was a bad starter so I took it down to Autozone to have it tested and it passed the test. It was turning. So I put it back in and then noticed my battery was showing as low on the dash panel even though I tested it with a multimeter and it showed over 12v. It passed the test at autozone. I put the battery back in the car and noticed that i keep getting weaker even though the car is off. Something seems to be draining it. Does anyone have any ideal of what can be wrong with my car? I just had the tranny rebuilt about a month ago so put too much money into it to just give up on it.

Not sure if this will help but, are you sure the battery is connected tightly to the terminals? When i first got my 94 same thing happend, light and radio would come on but it would not make any sound when i tried to start it. Turned out the battery was just loose....

Odd, you've checked the two things that could cause a no start.

Have you tried to turn the motor over by hand from the bolt on the front of the crank?

No I havent tried to turn the motor over by hand not sure how to do it. Do I need to remove anything to get to the bolt for the crank? Also the day before it wouldnt start it was running fine, not perfect though because sometimes it randomly shuts off on me.

You just need a socket and a long handled wrench to spin the motor. We just need to make certain that the motor did not seize.

Do I need to take out the spark plugs to do it? What bolt exactly am I looking for to turn? Where is it located? I never did that before.

I did as you sugested and spun the crank shaft bolt. It is the bolt on the outside of the damper, is this correct? I turned in clockwise and it moved easily. Also when I try to turn the car on with the lights on they go dim.

Have you checked the grounds on the block to make sure theyre clean and its getting grounded properly... that could cause the problem

Now I am wondering if it is the Neutral Safety switch. Today I tried to shift it to test it, it would not start in neutral or park. The starter would not even click. Anyway the battery is dead now. But when i was trying to jump start it I shifted the transmission into Drive and then tried the switch and the starter made a clicking noise. I did not start but at least was making noise. What would cause this? It would not do anything in any other gear. Just in Drive.

You mentioned that you cleaned the battery cables and at the starter, but did you clean the connection where the ground connects to the block? Also test the cables, they can go bad.
