Default Cruise Control Question

Well after getting a bunch of little things fixed on Lucy this week; new master cylinder, new ps fluid cooler, new O2 sensor, new serpentine belt, tune up, etc. I am still stuck with my usual problem. My Cruise is out. I NEEDED to get everything else fixed, so it all came first, now that that has happened I want to take a crack at fixing the cruise my self. I have already replaced the controls for the cruise (put in some nice custom switches ), but I want to start with the most obvious (to me) possibility how do I check my cruise control module to see if it is bad? Lucy is 10 years old with 90000 on her so it won't surprise me to find out that module is out. As always any help will be appreciated. I have learned a lot from you guys in the last few months now I hope to fix one of my problems myself.

Cruise control problems are indicated by six different codes, as it is controlled by the PCM and servo. Your best bet would be to have the PCM codes scanned and tell us which codes you get. One of them may point you right to the problem.

Since he has a 94, doesn't that make it a little harder? IIRC, those are the bastardized half OBD-I, half OBD-II years aren't they?

Need an OBD1 scanner (no flash feature on the 94) with the 16 pin ALDL connector. If AZ doesn't have it, go to another parts store. I know the AZ here will do them.

I had a problem with that a while back(back when it was moving).
wouldn't turn the cruise on and sometimes didn't go into overdrive.
Replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and everything worked again
