Default Cruise control 92 SE

After loaning my 92 to my brother for the past week i picked it up tonight and was on my way home and as i was driveing the cruise control kicked in and the pedel went to the floor and i hadn't touched it, Do i have a part going bad or is my car just trying to kill me?

I'm wondering if you don't have a wire bare and rubbing inside the column. If it were to kick in and go to the floor it isn't attempting to maintain speed, it'* looking to gain or get up to speed.

And for the system to work, it would need to be turned on or believe it was in an "on" state.

Was your on/off switch in the on or off position?
Did you or your brother change the tilt on the steering wheel?

He did change the the tilt and i was useing the cruise on the interstate but when i got off i did turn it off i just used the brake.

Search for tilt and steering column. Last week JR3800 gave some good info on columns and tilting. I fear this is your problem A wire got pinched or the coating is worn off. Maybe the group can give you more things to diagnose before going into the column.
