Default Couple new Issues

Ok... I have been playing with the 93 SSEi and I have noticed that it seems to be idling kinda warm. When I am driving it and moving, it holds at 195*, but when I let it sit and Idle, it goes up to 215-220ish. Does anyone know the reason for this? Also, sometimes when driving the temp does raise up about tht high. I know I need a new coolent level sensor as my low coolent light is on, but the coolent if where it should be level wise.

The car also has a rough startup idle. Any clue on how to fix that? When I start it, a lot of the time it sounds like it wants to stall out and then picks up a bit.

And lastly, the air compressor for the seats, working the lumbar and the side bolsters is on the same fuse as the courtesy lights... i thought I broke my seat controll when I remove the console time I remembered that.

If anyone can help, it would be appretiated much.

my 94 hangs right at 220 all the time i thought this was normal looks like i'm having a problem to

as far as your start up problem i was having the same problem on my 89 until it eventually wouldn't start at all turned out to be a fuel filter (go figure) turn the key forward wait for the pump to stop turn it off then turn it forward again and start (poor man fuel pressure check) hope this helps

thanks for the ideas. I am not sure if the high temp is an issue or not as it has been 2 years since I has a series 1. I was more hoping to hear that others' did the same thing as well. I think I should get the fuel filter replaced, but i assume that involves dropping the tank, which is something I am reluctant to do. It also appears that my fans do not come on right away either, but this issue needs some more looking into before deciding if it is an issue. Might need to get a high speed fan switch.

Jimmy the fuel filter is on the pass frame rail, underneath the pass footwell

sounds like you have a nasty vacuum leak

jimmy
the fuel filter isn't in the tank itas a real easy job did some quick research on your heating problem sounds like your car has a 180 stat in it so it stays there while the air is flowing through the radiator since the fans don't come on till the computer kicks them on at the higher stock temp thats y your getting the higher temp at a sitting idle

Geoff the car is going to warm up sitting idling. Stock Tstat 195 and low speed fans kick on at 215 highs at 225ish. If you have an aldl check to see if your gauge is anywhere near accurate. Most are a bit off. Mine is a story all to itself..

my 93 kept going up to 220 degrees. pontiac said this is normal.i didnt believe this, not for a 195t-stat. i did a complete coolant flush and new t-stat, problem solved. t-stat was sticking.
