It doesn't cost too much to get a set of intake gaskets.... Try it and see if thats the prob...

I have seen 3.8'* and 3.0'* crack heads, but it sure took a lot of heat to do it... I have yet to ever see a 3800 blow a head gasket...

Ok.. guys do we agree that a good compression test should verify it'* most likely the intake gaskets. We can rule out the head gaskets at that point

But why was it blowing out white smoke below the exhaust manifold on the the front (left side) of the motor?


There was clearly steam comming out there quickly before it died.

Because your LIM gaskets are also leaking coolant to the outside, where it'* steaming off on hot parts.

Yeah that could be the case, I am going to run it to a shop tomorrow to see what they will charge to open it up to check it out
