The L36 and the LN3 are a cake walk to replace the pump...
The L67 and L27 require a bit more work..
And I do not like how the elbow looks... Looks leak proned to me.. That elbow should never be reused, it should simply be replaced...
And I wouldn't pay $600 either, I too would do this myself...
Boreas, Are you mechanically inclined?

I dont want to do the pump because it is still working and is not the source of my leak. The leak comes from between the gasket and engine block at the coolant elbow and I would like to know how to fix it. Thanks.
Oh yea, I think they will laugh at me if I come back to the shop after one year and a half ago since the job was done.

You are kidding me right? I thought it was a screw-on after you remove the tensioner. Its an external part after all.
Isnt there a temp fix for this? I dont have time to take the top half of the engine off to fix this damn problem, and if I have to im going to have to take it to the shop for sure. Mom doesn't know about this problem yet and if she finds out that we have to spend even more money on a faulty car she is going to blow a head gasket, let alone even know that we have yet another problem. I kid you not.
Im really at a loss at what to do at this point. Brake lines are still ok but will eventually have to be done, I hear gringing noise while I drive but haven't traced yet if its the new brakes rubbing against the rotor, I almost feel like e-mailing back the seller and telling that SOB that he wasn't honest in revealing all of the problems. We thought the car was good when we got there and told us there were no problems with it. I have no ******* clue what I should do next short of sending a very angry e-mail to that SOB.

You need a neighbor like Me, Bill Boost or the like who can helpp you out and save you the $$$.... Its not that hard, it just takes a bit of work...
If you were my neighbor we'd have it all done in an afternoon
I don't know what to tell you... Either the tensioner or the intake will have to come off to replace that Elbow...

There is a house for sale on my street, you may be interested.
Yea I need more neighbors like that.
Im going to take it to a mechanic of mine to have a look, if all that needs to be removed is the tensioner then ill have him do it. By the looks of it that may be the only thing that needs to be removed if im lucky.
If my mom wasnt so dependant on that damned car and if I had free time id do it, but school, work, mom who drives that thing around CONSTANTLY because she can't seem to get her damn shopping done on one freakin' day (and she says she loves driving that thing so she might be making up some shopping runs) prevents me from going anywhere near that car to do absolutely anything. She cant live without having her own car, she was bitching every day for the few weeks that our 88 Taurus was out of commission. Its aggrivating.
