yeah, the marking on the cap faces forward.

i'm trying to remember what the marks are on the SII - i was looking at mine not too long ago, and it almost seemed like they were triangles, pointing towards the front... i'll see if i can find out. but there'* a mark of some sort on the cap,and it faces forward...

mkaake this is the only mark I can find on the rod. Is this what you are talking about?
