Confirmation of dead fuel pump 95 SE
Now that things have finally died down a bit I can now turn my attention back to my Bonne. Backstory- Drove car to gas station. Put 1/2 tank in. Went to leave and no start. After towing home I find that the FP is not running. No fuel in rails whatsoever.
Checked ground bus on drivers side. Clean as a whistle.
Relaced FP Relay on Pass. side. No change
All fuses under dash and hood good.
Tried connecting voltmeter to the little green connector next to the battery and watch it when I turn the key to the on position vs. off. Notice a brief voltage flux. Supposedly this is normal and indicates the relay is good and sending power to the FP.
Tapped on the tank in hopes of dislodging it and letting it run again- no good.
Before this no indication of a failing pump. It was louder than the one on my 00 GP, but that could be a design thing. It never changed pitch, never stumbled or failed to start. Just quit out of the blue after filling it w/ gas.
The only work prior to this was changing the crank position sensor, which cured its random cutting out while driving. The ECU is original to the best of my knowledge. Previous owner says that'* the original pump in there and she'* got a bit over 210K now since I own it.
Is there anything else I can/need to check before I drop the $200+ on a new Delphi fuel pump assembly? Bad ECU is about the only thing that crosses my mind but I'm not sure if it would just outright stop the FP from running like it did.

did you check for power at the connector by the tank? if you have power on the car side with your meter using the ground on the connector, put the connector back together and my inlaws 96 had the wires that go into tank so you could test the wires on the tank side of the connector to make sure the connector was good. it wasnt i had to solder them together.

I agree with JW. Our fuel pumps typically don't fail like turning a switch off. They generally deteriorate over time and you get symptoms before they crash. Make sure you are getting voltage to the pump.

No, I haven't checked for power at the pump harness yet. Had to get a new jack that would actually work, lol.. I may slide under it after this weekend and see what I can find. Not even sure where the harness is on this one.

Well, after crawling under it tonight to have a look for the harness, it appears I'm dropping the tank regardless. The pressure side of the fuel line (the one leading from the tank to the fuel filter) is wet on the metal side of the tubing above the connection point, so I have a leak in that line somewhere which will require pulling everything anyway. I'm just going to order a new Delphi setup and install that. While I have the tank down I can check for electrical issues, or wait until I get my new pump and connect it before install to be sure it primes with the key.
I know not to run it w/o fuel in it, but the 2 seconds that it primes should be enough to tell me if it was a bad pump, or something else going on.
Can't win for loosing, lol...

Got the tank down, and now have stumbled onto another issue. It appears that the 2 nylon lines are frozen onto the steel lines at their connectors from the pump. I tried for almost an hour to get one of them to pop loose and no dice. If I can't get them off, can I still get this line assembly anywhere? Looked on Rock Auto but nothing came up.
I don't want to flex these lines too hard and then end up w/ a leak once I get the tank and everything back in place. That would seriously **** me off, lol.. I don't enjoy dropping the tank in 30* weather more than once.

Here ya go. 1 pic as requested. Top line is the feed to the fuel filter, the middle is the return I assumen, and the one that is already hanging off looks to be just a vapor line as it just had a piece of rubber line connecting it, which is also rotted, lol..

i stand corrected i guess. you push it toward the tank pinch the white part and give it a yank. i had lines like that that i messed up a couple of times and i took it to the local car quest and he had a dorman set to make them up. theres some o rings in there you have to be careful of sometimes they get dry and stiff and dont seal anymore, you can get just the orings though. he had this
you could call around to see if any shops or parts places around you have the kit and will make you something.
