Cold Idle
I have a 96 Se with 198000 km every winter I have an idle problem that won't give up. while car is warming up idle is up and down like crazy, while driving cold (2 - 5 min warm up) RPM runs high. Until nice and warm and come to complete stop then idle noticeably drops. EGR valve has been cleaned and I was told by mechanic all is fine. Any one have any ideas?

same prob here, i take her to drive and give a little bit of gas. Theres a plastic line going from the gas tank to the metal fuel line, the rubber oring from the plastic line will wears out and it will drip out fuel very slowly loosing fuel pressure. In really cold weather i switch the key on/off around 3 times for the pump to build the lost pressure and it seems to do the trick. But again thats what im assuming

Thanks for the input I will check out items mentioned whenever I can find a garage or a warm day to do it.
Can you give me any more detail on checking "idle air control" If I need to remove MAF sansor does it need to be resealed in any fashion when replacing.
