Morning Guys, I have finally got around to working on the coils for my car. In an older post I asked about MSD coils and someone brought to my attention that in 92 there where 2 different kinds of coils, magnavox or the standard delco coils I believe. Well I have checked and I have the standard delco coils and am looking to upgrade to MSD.I need to change 1 coil anyway because one is bad and not firing, so I figured just change them all. I was wondering what the part number would be and how hard these are to change. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I think the number is 8224 ... but that'* from memory.

That'* the part number fo rthe ones I bought for my 99, should be the same for yours. And they are stinking easy to replace. Just do one at a time so you don't mix up your wires.

Then what good are they? I mean any better fuel economy? Anything?

They are about the same price as new stock coils. They technically do have a bit hotter spark than stock 92 coils, and are very similar to 96+ L67 coils.

Well thanks for the info. Maybe I don't need them then, since I am not boosted anyway, and if it doesn't make a diff. then I guess there isn't much point.

Given the similar price, they have a more efficient spark. If I were buying a new set of coils anyway, it'* what I'd get.
