Default code history clearing.. [NEW CODEx2]

how the heck do I do it?...

in my '95 (which i'm now driving) I hooked up my scan tool and looked at the Code history, there where 9 codes stored, but I didn't know from how far back, since I've driven the car VERY little and had no issues. The problem is, when I tell the scanner to clear the codes, it just site on the wait screen and nothing happens for like 10 mins, then it goes to an opporation error screen... am I doing anything wrong, and is there another way to manually clear the codes?

UPDATE:

I figured out the problem....

out of habbit i looked up for my 92 not my 95.

a check engine light came on this morning so I re hooked up and almost made the same mistake..

i checked codes, and there where 29 history codes, so i cleared everything, and will keep an eye on it all to see what happens.

I can't even imagine how long it would take to view 29 history codes with the flash flash OBD1 way
