yes i would say electronic spark control. its trippin hard while on heavy accelaration.like missin u know. i remember my 79 silverado did this when it wanted new plugs. the plugs on the bonnie look fine.barley 2000 miles on them.what steps do u suggest i take to fix this immediately? my trip into the colorado mountains (vail) to shotcrete a pool was really annoying with it stuttering up mountain passes.please tell me what to do to make it better.thanks.

Sputtering under load kind of leads me to think weak coils. Checking plugs first is a good idea, a new set is cheap. If the plug wires are old, then I say replace them as well.

If a weak spark, it will drive fine, but sputter under load.
