and for the record (for everyone out there) prolonged use of 3rd gear won't hurt your tranny at all... about the only thing it'll do is run you're RPM'* higher...

Thanks mkake. That was my concern from my original post.

The only other question is whether doing so will help or hurt gas mileage in heavy city driving?

Any thoughts?

Don't quote me on it.. I think it will be the same if not a tad better as you don't need to be on the gas more to get it to move from lets say 70km to 80km ( sorry.. us work in KM ) while it'* in OD. PErsonal preference again.. but I sometimes leave it in OD cause there will be times I forget and leave it in 3rd when I"m out of the city
