Default Chirping driving me crazy.

Hi all,

I have a 93 bonny, and recently I've had a chirp on every crack and bump on the road.

Tracked it down to the driver side wheel well. I can get it to ease down a little by spraying some lube where the spring sits.

Is there some kind of bushing there or something?

Anybody else run into this issue?

Thanks

Could be the bushing at the top of your strut. Which unfortunately sits right under the strut tower.

Thanks Mike,

Is there any way to test it before I disassemble?

How bad is the job?

Is there any danger in not doing it?

Also, I don't see a bushing in the diagram below, is it the bearing?

Are you able to get both front tires off the ground so you can turn the steering wheel in either directions to locate the chirp? Really, it could be anything from a bushing in the A-arm, or sway bar end link or anything that moves up front.

I can't say for sure if its hurting anything until you are able to locate it. You might be able to spray some water up towards the top of the strut to see if you can temporarily lube it.

How bad is the job to remove it? It takes some serious sockets, pry bars etc to remove a strut. Not something for the average driveway mechanic.
