"Check oil level" on DIC
That comes up on my DIC when I start the car, but usually goes off within 20 seconds or so. YES I CHECKED THE OIL! Is there a specific sensor for oil level, and where is it? Thanks!

But, I'm not certain your current one is a problem. It used to stay on for about 20 seconds in my 99 SE when the car was first started.
Has it noticably stayed on longer than it used to?
This may not be the case on your '98, but on my '92 and '93, there'* also an electronic oil level module on the passenger side behind the dash. When the oil light started turning on in my '93 SSEi, I replaced the oil level sensor on the pan, but the oil light still came on so I disconnected the connector to the oil level module. The oil light never turns on anymore. Someday I'll find a replacement oil level module and replace it so that system will work again.
My 93 SSEi has the same problem currently with the "check oil level" indicator on the DIC. To get at the sensor thats on the passenger side do I need to remove the dash or can I pull a Gumby and get at it from below???

To add, the oil level module is found in the 96-up models, and ties into the PCM believe it or not. I forget the code for it, but if there is something wrong with the module, it will let you know via codes (I think it will NOT illuminate the check engine lamp, just store the code).
