check gages light question

My car has done this since it was brand new, fuel tank drops below half tank and the check gauges light comes on...i always thought this was weird and im just wondering if this is normal. Thanks

Actually, I thought that annoying bell/warning light came on at 1/4 tank to remind you to get gas soon........

fuddyduddy121 is on a distinguished road

It shouldn't come on until it gets close to "E."

Maybe a problem with the gages cluster.
