I was using a rebuilt alternator from AutoZone, and when the car was sitting, idling, the voltage would drop and the lights would dim. However, when I went to the ACDelco unit, the problem went away for the most part. Almost full voltage at idle.

However, my battery is over 5 years old and it has corrosion underneath it. So I really think I only solved half of the problem.

I really think that it is a combination of your battery and alternator. You have to be careful with the rebuilt alternators.
