Default changing brake light bulbs

I just purchased a 1996 bonneville and I'm not mechanically inclined. But I want to learn more and upgrade my vehicle. For starters, How do I change the brake light bulbs?

open the trunk
pull back the carpet
get a wrench and unbolt the 3 nuts
whole light assembly will come out
change bulbs by turning out
replace
dont overtighten nuts!

I remember replacing the passenger rear w/o taking the assembly off. I don't remember how.

Strangely that is the ONLY bulb that has blown in our 96
