Its hard to say what the problem is going to be.... Its possible to have some wear in the valvebody causing the TCC to leak pressure, Its also possible that the Torque Converter is wearing, and or the fluid can be oxidised...

What we need to know is what the PCM is calling for and whats happening..

You'd have to look for the slip RPM's at 100% TCC duty cycle... If the slip RPM's do not drop a certain degree the PCM will see this as a problem and ses the SES light...

Before you reset the code did you write it down so you could figure it out, or was this also a P1870 codes...

This stands for Transmission Component Slipping

Yes, it was P1870 on mine also.

Yes, I should get it scanned. However, shouldn't I expect the code to come back if it happens again? I am thinking it was one of those fluke things. It's been running OK for last 2 months (including 2 three hour hwy/country drives).

i'll try to get mine to the tranny shop that did this rebuild real soon and post back.
