Cat converter question?
Hello again everyone,
My question is this, How many of you have all together removed your converter? The converter on my car is all broken up inside and i hate the rattle. I'm thinking of just cutting it off and running some straight pipe. What sixe is a stock exhaust on a 92 SE? Let me know everyones thoughts.

Do NOT remove it. The performance level of a high flow unit is the same as a straight pipe. If you take it off, you're violating a few laws, losing credibility, and making your car far louder than it should be.
Anyone that KNOWS you have no Cat can turn you into the EPA for a $250 reward.
The EPA can do this, because they're going to fine you 10 times that much when they catch you. Alot of shops turn guys in.

Yes i know about the emisions testing, I live in upstate, NY and it is still relatively pretty easy to get anything below a 96 inspected. OBD 2 vehicles in NY state suck by the way. So taking the converter al ltogether off will make it way to loud ha? I'm not looking for the performance or sound. I just hate the rattle. Thanks everyone for all of your input.
