car idles at 1000 rpms. is this normal?

my 95 idles at 1000 rpms at start and maybe will drop down to 900 or even 800 rpms sometimes at the most ive seen since i owned the car the past year..
is this normal.. i mean she runs and drives very sweet especially with the new catco i just installed. any thoughts or ideas guys.? thanks

Or did you send them recently? I'm still more than willing to check out your scanning equipment vs mine on my '94. No sweat.

(edited -- was just reading about your wife in the hospital. Hope she'* doing ok. Spent a lot of time visiting a friend in the hospital with breathing problems, and I know it'* tough. They can do great things for stuff like that now and there'* even entire floors of certain hospitals devoted especially to respiratory problems. Keep learning and asking questions!)
