Is there any part of the hood release cable visable near the hood release mechanism? If so, have you tried giving that a pull?

Push the hood down real hard, maybe a little glitch happened in the lever...?

TWM said in another post that the cable broke..

Kenn...Can you grab the cable with a pair of Vise Grips or pliers where it broke from the handle, then pull on it? It should be enough to pop the hood. Then you can replace that cable and handle assembly (junkyard special would do).
