Correct, you won't get air in the system when you remove the connector. Don't forget to "burp" the air out of the hose before opening the valve to the system.
Yes, the compressor cycling on and off is normal. Simple explanaition is, there is a tempurature sensor in the line (low side I think). When line temp gets below something like 35 it disables the compressor. Then when line temp gets above something like 40 it enables it again. Hence the cycling.

Yes it does get colder when the engine is at a higher RPM.

my car just cycles on until it reaches the temp of the climate control and then it follows its own path!! moms car cycled on and off when it was low and now it runs right!
it should stay on for a while and then off for a few and so on and so forth. but it shouldnt cycle on and off quickly at all

hhhmmm my compressor kicks on and off. i get mixed reviews though should it be on for awhile until it gets to a good temp or shoudl it kick on and off. in my expierence i would think it should stay on until a desired temperature is reached. also to test your a/c which pipe is suppose to get cold? The one nearest to the alternator right? thats the one that is "sweating" and is cold but then u go in the car and the vents are only blowing mildly cool air. I manually set the actuator to full a/c so idk what to do.

Hi Guys,
A/C system is a completed and is like a meat locker inside now. I vacuumed the system, changed the orfice tube, then recharged again. Now at an idle i get vent temps of 45 and while driving around 37 at 2000 rpms. Just the way i like it.
