Was wondering if someone bought the brighter headlights and if they worked well. Mine seem really dim and do not want to waste money on them if they wont work. The type that you just plug in and go, not looking to mess around with the wiring harness. What worked for you guys? Thanks!!

No, still have regular ones, do not want to waste the $$ if it doesnt make a decent change, So the Silver stars really do improve? I was going to pick em up, figured I would double check with here first. Thanks!

Also, What would be better, slapping in "brighter" headlights, or upgrading the fogs to the driving lights that willren has, or anyother brand that someone recommends. Think the headlights would run me $20 and the driving lights would be $50+messing with the harness, right? Suggestions? THANKS!!
go now and buy yourself Silverstar Headlights. They make a GREAT improvement over stock
then go and get Hella Angel eyes. They take H3 55 watt bulb and they have a supercool halo around the light. You can wire them to the foglight wiring and then just run a wire to a switched source to power the halos

If the Hella'* are out of your price range, try the Cyber-white Navigators. Available at Kmart the last I heard, believe it or not. Maybe Wal-Mart? That'* it I think. They're also smaller in diameter, which allows greater airflow to the lower part of the radiator on an SSE or SSEi.
The Navigators, from a conversation I had recently with a Hella owner, cast a more projected forward beam. I hear the Hella'* light up street signs at quite a distance, which is a job for the brights, not the Fogs.
Have you checked your alternator output? I'd do that first, or you may be disappointed, but I also agree with the Silver Stars. I run them in my lows, with Cool Blues in the highs.

I got the Silverstar highs and lows. Worth the price!
I also have the Navigator Cyber Whites for $40 @ Wal-Mart. Installed in less than an hour and the only modification to the factory harness was using a 'T' splice to get (switched) power to the aftermarket relay. I retained the stock switch and functionaloty for inspection (ie: go off with the highs).
I am up grading my Fiances 99 Grand Prix with the Navigators this weekend. Worth every cent!

If you need more light, best output per dollar IMO, is a xenon bulb. If you want a whiter light on top of that, that will look nicer, and cleaner and such, spend a lilttle more on Silver stars.
Ithink silverstars look MUCH better on the 96-99 headlight because it doesn't have the front refractors...
SS'* are about 38/pair or higher in MN..
