Badnit deleted his and hasn't seen any issues from it yet.

Sam... A check valve doesn't make sense because brake fluid would need to return when the brakes release.

It was always thought to be a proportioning valve, when Badnit deleted his w/o problems we found it odd. Makes one wonder..is this GM'* sick idea of a union?

Hang in there Crazy..

I mentioned...one member pulled it and hasn't had an issue. We know that rust is probably blocking the lines on Badnits car and creating it'* own proportion if that is what it is. I don't know for sure what it is and don't suggest deleting anything that might be necessary.

Anything brake related should be approached with a lot of caution before deleting. It doesn't matter if you can't get the car to move..but it sure is a big problem if the car won't stop.

It would be cruel if it was just a union..lol

The newer GM cars have the proportioning valve as part of the master cylinder. The '93 Bonneville had the proportioning valves (those little cylinders) near the back wheels. They are there to equalize the pressure front to back. I think they cost me somewhere around $20. For proper brake operation, I'd suggest that you replace them.

Yes i have taken one out, Did not feel anything. then the other line went also, took out the other side.

So on my SE i have none in the rear...

I it does not feel any diffrent.

the only thing i know is, the rear breaks seem to get hotter and have taken out two sets of Drums so far. they start to warp.

If anyone can tell me where to get new ones and the part Number that will really be a big help. I have all ready tried two auto part stores and they dont have them.

It was maybe 5 years back that I bought them, but I just went to my usual supplier (not a national chain) told him what I needed and he got them for me. If you run into problems, I can see if he can still get them, and I could mail them off to you.

yeah that wouldnt work, but when i had mine off, i used my blow gun and air only went thru one way. so from there i assumed it to be a check valve. hmmm. idk

thats good news. it ends my confusion. i thank you for the clarity. proportioning valve makes much more sense. how much were they?

i know i read something in the chiltons about the p.v being incorporated in the ms, that must have been for the newer years, as previously stated,

but hey, those chiltons only cover 20 years. much confusion can be made with that wide of coverage.
