Yeah, i kinda figured i was *.o.l. But it was worth a try. I guess now I just gotta break him the news. Yeah, jmfc, we are pretty close. The guy has owned the car for quite awhile, but that would have been pretty weird if it was the car you sold. Thanks for the help again fellas

Is this a car you need? Just let him read some of the stuff on this forum, and then hopefully you'll save yourself a whole lot of time and hassle.

I explained all about the map sensor, timing tables, etc. and it isn't registering. I could rewire the whole thing and use the original computer. you know, sit down with the two harnesses and a schematic and spend two weeks wiring it and working out the bugs. But I don't have two weeks, and he doesn't have the two weeks worth of money to pay me. I will get an answer from him tomorrow. Either way it was an interesting experience!

Don't do it. It won't be right unless he'* gonna use the older engine'* sensors and computer. And then, you'll be down 35-40 horsepower. It'* so not worth it. Why let him put the wrong engine in and then charge you extra labor to make it work? Don't fall for it.

Absolutely! I couldn't have written it any better.

It is his car, I am the one doing the work. I agree with you guys, I don't want to do it either. I told him it would not be right and I didn't want to see him waste his money. We will see what he says tomorrow.

Yep. that is true. Like I said I could rewire it and use the old computer, but that takes a long time, and isn't the goal to kinda move forward with technology not backwards? I am all about doing custom work and figuring out problems like this, but it is not like he wants to do anything but drive it to work. If it was a project car or something like that, then maybe I would get out MY wiring hat! But that is not a what he is looking to do he has got some other pontiac he wants to do all that stuff with. But like I said thatnks for helping, who knows what I would have got into without you guys' info!
