1996 is when all auto makers had to have OBD2 in their vehicles (at leaast in the states, and I'm guessing Canada too).

1995 had OBD 1.5, I don't belive 1994 did.

So no, you and I have OBD1.

So a generic OBD2 scanner can read it?
I just looked at a 95 SSE today with an allegedly bad Head/Gasket and the connector felt like OBD2 to me, so I am hoping my OBD2 svanner can read it.

No. A OBD I scanner must be used with a OBD II Cable.
