Plastic sway bar link theory
I have been reading up on the sway bar links as I am doing the upgrade this weekend. I inspected mine today to get an inventory of what parts and tools I might need for the job. The best I can do now due to my work schedule is look at the links with the tire turned to the right. Here I what I have found today.
It appears that my 99 SSEi (32mm sway bar) came from the factory with the plastic sway bar washer/spacer setup. From what I have read on this board no one has chimed in that they have this on their car from the factory. I have no reason to belieive that these were changed by the previous one owner. Also, there is no warranty work reported on the print out of the GM service records that I have.
Is there a chance that they used these in production? Are there any other 99 owners out there with these inferior links on their cars? My SSEi was built in Sept 98. Other 99 owners chime in.
From the day I bought my SSEi I always thought it waddled like a duck over bumps. I cant wait to get these changed.

One last question. I bought the links that you posted the part number for, these should be the right length to replace the plastic ones, too? The plastic ones seem shorter than the steel, although I havent had time to campare. I am assuming the bar on your car is the same as the one on mine, so they should work.
I appologize for all the questions on this, usually I do as much research as I can but this week is FUBAR as my father-in-law is in the hospital and alot of our off-time is spent there.
