Best Throttle Position Sensor to Purchase?
Hello From Texas,
I have heard and read many great things about your club and fellow associates. You run a very nice crew and great Forum. Great job. Very simple yet elegant operation!
My question is i am getting ready to purchase a TPS sensor and My buddy at autozone says $30.00 for a wells unit. My buddy at the dealers says $100.00! And last but not least my Buddy at advance auto says "borg_warner all the way"" for $72.00!
please any advice or info will much appriciated and many thanks in advance.
Kindest Regards,
Big Poppa.

Frankly, I think that they're all right. I've used everything from the Wells, to OEM and haven't found much of a difference. There may be some as far as longevity, but I haven't run into that.
He might want to be careful, because I thought some of those aftermarket TPS were adjustable, i.e. screw slots instead of screw holes. Might need a multimeter to check for proper alignment if it'* the adjustable type.
Thank you fellas,
I think I will try a wells unit on a lets see basis! I've read that these are will work over a broad range of cars and model yrs. If i have any funny problems then I will try a higher priced sensor. Now when i adjust that TPS with the multimeter I should be on DC volts? Or ohms setting. If I remember my manuel I should look for .45-.70 closed throttle to 4.45 WOT! Is that pretty much it for a regular TPS switch out?? Anything else I should be on the look out for?? Once again thnks to all.

willwren,
You are 1000% right when you mentioned to use only Acdelco O2 sensors! I learned a very painful lesson trying to get by with a "El Cheapo" Bosch O2 sensor! Man, what a mess that was..Never again!! Thanks, fellas. Be Safe.
