Default Benifits to the gatorback belt?

What difference will there be if I install new gatorback belts on my 93SSEI?

The Gatorback is especially important on the 92/93 SSEi'* when upgrading to the smaller SC pulley. You need to preven slip since the surface contact area, as well as the wrap diameter both decrease.

Both of my belts are Gatorbacks. The belt construction alone is superior to almost any belt out there, not even considering the 'tread' design.

Ayup. The gatorback design in place of solid ribs on the belt enable it to wrap just a bit tighter around a small-radius pulley.

I have one on my Trans Sport van; no complaints.

I never knew that.. I just threw the package out as soon as I got it and changed it...

Nice to know though.. I still have the receipt

The Belt is definitely way better.. in the price difference between the gatorback and GM parts counter belt for my car was only $3 difference.. so naturally I went with the better stuff.

Default gatorback

Who makes the gatorback?
Sounds like a Florida belt.
Do they make one for my SE.
I'd like to put a lifetime on it. Stupid engine mount makes it hard to change.

I don't know about the engine mount for SE models.. but the 97 SSEI DEFINIETLY needs the engine mount off.. that was a royal PITA !!!
