Benifits to the gatorback belt?
The Gatorback is especially important on the 92/93 SSEi'* when upgrading to the smaller SC pulley. You need to preven slip since the surface contact area, as well as the wrap diameter both decrease.
Both of my belts are Gatorbacks. The belt construction alone is superior to almost any belt out there, not even considering the 'tread' design.

Nice to know though.. I still have the receipt
The Belt is definitely way better.. in
the price difference between the gatorback and GM parts counter belt for my car was only $3 difference.. so naturally I went with the better stuff.
