bang out dents

well my parents are away and i was pulling into the garage for the first time since they left and there goes the corner into the pillar. its not a bad dent. but its smack on the corner a nice dent. if i just bang on it with a rubber mallet from the back, is it gonna be destroyed? any suggestions? ill post pics soon.

Gonna need to see some pics to see...If it'* in the quarter panel....You should be able to push is back out...Remember...It'* only sheetmetal...not real tuff.
It wont be perfect but it is like thick tinfoil. I had someone hit me in the right rear and was able to use a rubber mallot and a foot/kick to get it back to somewhat normal.

sheet metal? i thought it was plastic... its on the bumper type thing. also that little chrome strip bent right with it, i have a feeling thats gonna break.
if the dent is in your bumper, watch out for the paint to spiderweb. Look really carefully on the paint now and see if there is little cracks. and ya you can pound that dent out that is im the bumper its just getting access to the dent. if hte dent is in the back you should be fine, there is alot of room back there. But if it is in the front you may need to pull the bumper off to get it out
