Well, I just had my car scanned today (for free, lol) and it came up with a code 42, which was linked to a bad knock sensor. How hard are these to replace?

Um? no.

I have that as well and its caused because of the KR I get. Yours could be a bad knock sensor though, depending on the circumstances....Its a PITA to get to last time I checked on my 93.


Mine happens (code) on a mountain pass when I'm running sustained 20* of KR all the way up and WOT.

I can't remember if you have a front and back or just one.

Pretty easy if you can get to them. If you have two, they are dead center of the block. Right below cylinders 3 and 4, with a nice little shield and connector.

Kinda hard to reach, easy to replace once you get there. Coolant will come out though.

Thinking more..I think in 92 there was only one at one end of the engine.

It'* on the back close-ish to the oil pressure sender.

so you can get to it from the left side of the engine?

Probably similar to the oil pressure sender..where it'* easiest in your year to remove the wheel and wheel well splash guards.
