Default 1995 ac problem

My 1995 ac temp display is blinking and no cold air is blowing. I tried to do the test that'* on the techinfo but it doesnt work. Since this is a 95, is there another way to check the electronic climate? Thanks

When the display is blinking it means that there'* a fault code in the HVAC system and can only be pulled by the dealer. Since it isn't blowing cold air and it'* blinking, I'm willing to bet that you're running low on refrigerant. When was the last time you had it recharged? Best way to tell if your car is low on refrigerant, start the car and crank the A/C and get out of the car and check and see if the compressor clutch engages at all, if it doesn't engage then the compressor could be bad or the system is low. More than likely the system is just low. I hope this helps.

If could also be the air mix door motor. This opens or closes according to the set temp. All the way open for full hot and all the way closed for full cold.

The refrigerant may have nothing to do with it. The ECC unit will prevent the compressor clutch from engaging in a fault status. ANY fault status.

Dealer needs to pull the codes or clear/reset it. Some codes are minor. Cross your fingers.

ran a scanner today and it shows a code P0640 QDM 1 fault. Will this make my a/c run weird?

No, that has absoulutley nothing to do with the HVAC system. A parts store or standard scan tool can't scan the HVAC systems. Only the dealer. The QDM 1 failure you're getting is the samething I'm getting which means something like low speed fan error or something.....Do a search on QDM 1 and it'll pop up here on the site....Because I've got the same error along with a few other people that have posted it here on the site.
