Default backfiring on start

my 1992 bonneville se jus had a timing chain put on it. but its still backfiring and wont stay started. can some one please tell me wtf!! is goin on. some say i need a new computer. i dont know

Who put the chain on?

There are two sets of dots that get lined up . Cam to balancer (not important for this psot) and cam to crank. If you did it..did you take pics of the dots?

THE SHOP PUT IT ON HE SAID ITS STILL SOME SERIOUS BACKFIRING GOIN ON. ITS PISSING ME OFF ITS BEEN IN THERE FOR 3 WEEKS

The first thing I would suspect is the timing chain install, which is what Bill is getting at. Before you pay the shop to do anything else, I would make them revisit that.

A backfire after a chain is typically the dots not lining up.

A misfire would be a misrouted plug wire. However since they didn't do wires..they shouldn't be off.

It was backfiring BEFORE going to the shop, if I understand correctly.

I'd be checking the Harmonic Balancer first.

yea it was cuz it cut off and jus would not start back. the timing was gone and i seen the gear it was missing alot of teeth
