Default Auto climate control malfunctioning

:?
I hoped in the bonnie to take her down to the tranny shop for her inspection. Well, going down the road, the CC is working really hard to try to cool down the car. I look over and it'* on "ECON" aka, vent. So, I push the "AUTO" button for the AC to engage. I press the button and nothing happens, it'* still in "ECON" mode. So, after pressing it 1/2 a dozen times I turn the CC off. Go to turn it back on with the "AUTO" button, it comes back on, but still as "ECON".

Idea'*?

thanks,
john

"ECON" is like a vent mode. the A/C is not engaged.

Ok, guessing a bit here, possibly the AC freon level is low. Therefore it will not engage the compressor. Defaulting to Econ.

Please try pulling codes. I think you are able to do so on your year.

HOLLER!!!

:? Then the damn temp. number started flashing :?

Came inside the house to grab a peice of paper and pen to write with, come back out, "AUTO" is engaging but there isn't cold air coming out of the vents :?

I checked my volts, running between 12.8-13.2

My car need a frion boost?

Maybe they smashed a wire or dinged a connector on the compressor while fussin' over your tranny?
